Introducing Zene's baby daddy "Spenser"

Am/Int'l CH Zenith's Suspense Thriller ROM "Spenser"

Sire: BISS Am/Int’l CH Vasara’s One for the Kipper JH “Kipper”
Dam: CH Lyons Zenith Ready For Winter “Winter”

AKC #:  SR09151701 - DNA Profile #: #V479246
DOB: 6/16/2003

Accomplishments
*Vizsla Club of America - Registry of Merit*
* Finished with 4 and 5 Point Majors *
* Best of Opposite Sex over Ranked Specials from the Classes *
* Int’l Championship with Group Placements *

“Spenser” is beyond handsome with a headpiece to die for. He is moderate in size with a lovely front assembly and is nicely balanced overall. He has a tremendous side gait and moves cleanly. In limited showing, he finished both his American and International Championships and then retired from the ring as a companion to his Owners (Karen and Steve Carnahan, Zenith Vizslas). Besides good looks, he has a lovely biddable temperament and a wagging tail for everyone he meets.

"Spenser"

Bred sparingly, he has passed on tremendous quality to his offspring. In July 2014, he earned his Vizsla Club of America Registry of Merit (ROM) title over a mere three (3) litters. Collectively, his offspring has earned five (5) Grand Championships (GCH), eight (8) Championships (CH), two (2) Best in Specialty Show Wins (BISS), Multiple Group Placements, Multiple Award of Merit wins at VCA Nationals, Ranked Special (#8 Vizsla in the Country 2013, and Top 20 so far in 2014), Best in Sweepstakes Winners, Winners/Best of Winners at Specialties, and 1 Master Hunter (MH), and three (3) Junior Hunters (JH). Having spent time with several of his “kids” I can say they inherited both his good looks AND fantastic temperament.

“Spenser’s” pedigree reflects several renown Vizslas, including the VCA Hall of Fame (HOF) Vizslas; “Marker” (BIS BISS Am/Can CH Dirigo Gambler’s Marker ROM HOF) and “Skipjack” (CH Lyon’s Skipjack of Harann ROM HOF), “Cutter” (BIS CH Penlee’s Cutter UD ROM HOF).  More information on VCA Hall of Fame: http://vcaweb.org/breed/hall_of_fame.shtml.

Spenser's Sire: “Kipper”

His Sire, “Kipper” (BISS Am/Int’l CH Vasara’s One for the Kipper JH) has been a formidable producer with offspring winning Multiple Best in Shows (BIS) in US and Australia, Multiple Specialty Show Wins (BISS), Multiple Grand Champion (GCH) and Champion (CH) titles, and Top Ranked Specials (US).  In 2010, he received a Registry of Merit (ROM) from the VCA.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to incorporate “Spenser” – and his parentage – as part of the Moonlight Vizslas line.

* Beginner Novice (BN) Leg #1 *
* Canine Good Citizen *
* Junior Hunter at 10 1/2 months – Owner Handled/Trained *
* 2x's Best Puppy in Sweepstakes Winner *

"Zene" means "music" in Hungarian, and her registered name is a tribute to her father, Rocky. Zene is my first homegrown girl and she stole my heart early on, and I knew she was destined to stay. She is very sweet and lovable and has "never met a stranger" for those reasons she reminds me of her mother "Csilla" who shares the same bulletproof temperament.

Zene completed her AKC Conformation Championship with a 4 pt Major; earning the majority of her points from the Bred-By-Exhibitor class. The day after finishing her title, she took back-to-back Best of Breed wins for two 5 Point Grand Champion Majors - and she made the cut both days in the Sporting Group. Some of Zene's best attributes include her level top-line and correct tail carriage, perfect catlike feet, deep chest (to her elbows), feminine and expressive head and correct eye color.

As a baby, she won back-to-back Best Puppy in Sweepstakes from the 6-9 month puppy class. Zene has also dabbled in Obedience and she has one Beginner Novice (BN) Leg and She also easily earned her Canine Good Citizen. She earned her Junior Hunter (owner/handled and trained) and she absolutely LOVES birds - we plan to do advanced Hunt Titles with her in late 2014.

Zene's pedigree reflects holds a proven strength in conformation and versatility.

Zene's Sire: "Rocky"

Her Sire "Rocky" (GCH/Can CH Captivatin' Ain't He A Knockow't) finished his AKC Championship at 7 1/2 months old with 5 Majors in only 8 shows. Before age 18 months, Rocky was awarded several Best of Breed wins and earned multiple Sporting Group Placements — all owner handled! With relative ease, Rocky finished his AKC Grand Championship (owner handled) in August 2010. In a short time he has been a tremendous producer with six (6) Champions, two (2) Grand Champions and two (2) Best in Specialty Show Winners (BISS).

Zene's Dam: "Csilla"

Her Dam "Csilla" (CH Tamaron Okos Piros Csillag, CD RN JH CGC ROM) is a proven producer earning her VCA Registry of Merit (ROM) in May 2014.  Her progeny include a Best in Specialty Show Winner (BISS), five (5) Champions, three (3) Grand Champions (2 others are Major Pointed), seven (7) Junior Hunters, two (2) Rally Novice (RN) titleholders; along with Multiple Best of Breed, Group Placing, Specialty Award of Merits, and Multiple BBE Group Placements.  Csilla has consistently passed her faultless temperament and good looks to her offspring. She hails from a successful litter with siblings earning (Multiple) Best in Specialty Show Wins, and a Best in Show.

What is the meaning behind the "True Love Litter"?

true·love  [troo-luhv]
1. a sweetheart; a truly loving or loved person

Our litter is an "arranged marriage" of sorts, so I cannot say for sure if Spenser and Zene are truly "sweethearts" - but one can only hope!  This particular pregnancy will be done via artificial insemination so the parents will not officially meet (in-person), but I have no doubt the resulting pups will be well-loved!

Regardless, all our litters have themes; and for this litter, I am highlighting the word "true" which will be incorporated into the AKC Names.  Might be a good time to refresh yourself on the meaning of true (#4 is my favorite):

true  [troo]
1. being in accordance with the actual state or conditions; conforming to reality or fact; not false: a true story.
2. real; genuine; authentic: true gold; true feelings.
3. sincere; not deceitful: a true interest in someone's welfare.
4. firm in allegiance; loyal; faithful; steadfast: a true friend.

So what does this all mean?   Each pup in the litter will have an AKC Registered name which *must* include the word "true".   Their "call name" can be anything but often the name tie's back to the AKC Registered Name.  Example:  "Zene" is CH Moonlight's Rock'n Ow't JH, she came from the Rockstar litter and the AKC Name had to have "rock" in it, her call name means "music" in Hungarian.  Make sense?

Here are some examples of names that can be used (submissions welcome):

Moonlight's True Love
Moonlight's Come True
Moonlight's Dream Come True
Moonlight's True Colors
Moonlight's Hold True
Moonlight's Tried and True
Moonlight's True to Form
Moonlight's To Good To Be True
Moonlight's True-Blue
Moonlight's True Meaning
Moonlight's Say It's Not True
Moonlight's Say It Isn't True
Moonlight's One True Thing
Moonlight's A True Friend

We are planning a late Summer 2014 Litter . . .

Planning each litter begins months, sometimes years ahead of time. No, really! Health and temperament are of the utmost of importance to my breeding program and I am very selective when choosing a stud dog.

I've had my eye on several nice dogs over the past year or so, and the 2014 VCA Nationals Events (end of April) was the perfect time to continue my "boyfriend shopping". Where else can you see multiple dogs, their offspring, and other up-and-coming puppies from all across the country? There were nearly 250 Vizslas in one place, at one time!

It was wonderful seeing so many nice dogs and discussing dogs and pedigrees with other like-minded responsible breeders.  I even have some ideas for future breeding plans.

During the week long show, I had the pleasure of meeting GCH HRQ Keep 'Em Guessing JH "Finley" (Am/Int'l CH Zenith's Suspense Thriller "Spenser" x BISS GCH CH Tivoliz Now Pay Attention CD RN MH AX AXJ VC TDI ROM “Q”) who I found to be a lovely girl with a sweet temperament.  I  also had the opportunity to see several of "Spenser's" titled get, three of which won an Award of Merit (including two of "Finley's" siblings).

Upon returning,  I set the wheels in motion to coordinate a breeding to "Spenser".  With the go ahead from his breeders/owners, Karen and Steve Carnahan (Zenith Vizslas) for a breeding to "Zene" I am happy to share that we have a planned litter for late Summer 2014.

Now, we wait for Zene to come into season, likely July.
